Matt Rem grew up in upstate New York. As a youth, he was known to disassemble and attempt to reassemble the household appliances, particularly the microwave. Having a fascination with electrical circuits led him to become an electrical engineer. He moved to Texas to be a field engineer, learning how devices and systems were used in the field before beginning to design them.

Mr. Rem earned his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.

At ED&T, Mr. Rem provides electrical evaluation and fire analysis for commercial, industrial and residential equipment and structures.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rem designed electrical equipment for industrial applications, notably electrical distribution and controls for oil rigs, natural gas compression stations and hazardous areas as defined by the Atmospheres Explosibles directive (ATEX), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards.

When not on the job, he enjoys camping and hiking, running with his dog, and photography.

State Licenses

Mr. Rem is licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Mr. Rem is also an intermediate speaker in Spanish (download Spanish CV) and French (download French CV).
