Stephen Collings has spent most of his life in Nashville, Tennessee. As a child, his favorite birthday presents were Carmen Sandiego games, C compilers, and electronic project kits from Radio Shack. Early influences such as these led to his becoming a programmer and engineer, and a generally well-rounded geek.
Mr. Collings earned Bachelor degrees in computer engineering and computer science at Lipscomb University, and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University, both in Nashville.
At ED&T, Mr. Collings provides electrical evaluation and fire analysis of incidents involving commercial, industrial, and residential equipment.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Collings spent nine years designing industrial power converters, particularly accessories for variable-frequency motor controllers. He was involved in ensuring compliance with national and international safety standards, including UL, CSA, and CE.
When not on the job, he enjoys spending time with his family, good stories, and room escape games.
